I’ve been meaning to open a photography YouTube channel for a while. However, I couldn’t come up with what to do on it. Finally, after some time I oficially opened my YouTune Channel!
I say “oficially” because I uploaded some videos previously from roadtrips and stuff, but now I now where I want to go and what I want to do with my YouTube channel. So, for the premiere I made a sort of behind the scenes video of my latest photo shoot for my friend’s web Vestier de Moda.
Hope you enjoy it!
I will upload more photos of this shooting here on my blog and on my Instagram account!
If you’ve been following my blog for some time and have stopped by my About Page, you’ve probably read and remember this phrase:
And my biggest wish is that my family, my friends and I can all live in the same city again.
Well, I can tell you know that it’s no longer there. 🙂
My wish came true exactly one month ago. On May 19th my parents finally moved to live in Barcelona and we are know 1,7Km away from each other!
I spent some time thinking about what kind of photo I would take to commemorate this event, and one night when I was almost falling asleep I though about our feet! Everyone has a very unique way to stand and shoe style, so I though this would be a fun and original family portrait.
It was taken at my parents new home after celebrating my brother’s birthday.
Together in Barcelona.
I’m a big fan of having a very precise Focus point in all of my photos. Specially in portraits. I always aim to the eyes and try to make them the central point of attention always keeping the background out of focus (I have a very special relationship with my 1.8 50mm lens and almost for a sure fact I will be shooting at 1.8 ((hihihihi)).
For this shot it was a challenge to find that perfect focused eye point. I took this through a window in the intent of trying new things and ideas, as I mentioned on my previous post (it features a very handsome border collie and very nice fairy lights if you want to check that out!).
The reflections on the glass make it very difficult to find focus. But you just need to move around a little bit and maybe, if you have to, switch to manual focus. That’s what I did here and I think I got a very good focus.
I then developed this image using Adobe Lightroom and a little Photoshop afterwards.
Thanks to my beautiful model Jessica!
I recently started watching YouTube video tutorials about photography. It has been hard for me to admit it, but I’ve been feeling kind of stuck with my photography. That’s why I decided to look for tutorials, videos and stuff that could help me bring my photos to another level.
I thought I wanted to master Adobe Lightroom. So that’s what I started looking when I had a revelation. I discovered that I need to experiment more and bring new ideas to the photoshoots instead of to the post-processing of my photos.
So I started to watch videos of photoshoots ideas instead of developing and editing tutorials. I came across a YouTube channel I really, really liked and almost binged watch all of the videos. It’s Jessica’s Kobeissi’s Channel.
She’s a great fashion and portrait photographer and besides really enjoying her videos, I was inspired by her work and her attitude. So I decided I just need to practice more, be more constant with my photography and less afraid to try new things.
Right now I’m doing very little. I’m not even having one photo shoot a month (which sucks) and translates to blog abandonment and social media neglect.
I’m going to try and do at least one short photo shoot a week and try new developing tools and techniques, keep watching tutorials and keep learning. The first step was to buy some fairy lights and try new, fun things with them! Just a the photo I took of Mango.
I will keep sharing my progress with you :). Hope you have a wonderful week!
Sometimes emotions are so strong that we Detonate. Reality becomes blurry and all boundaries and limits of logic and reason disappear. Fear and shame disappear leaving the path open to the most primitive an real feelings to manifest in all their glory.
We often hear people telling us not to make rash decisions when anger burns us, and not to make promises when we are drunk on happiness. That’s just because such strong feelings, cut loose our most inner selfs and open the door to roads that we wouldn’t have the courage to take under any other circumstance.
But, why is that a bad thing?
If intense emotions, whether is anger or happiness, give us the determination we need to make decisions that lead us closer to where we want to be in our lives, what is wrong with seizing those moments and be brave even if only for a few minutes?
I think sometimes we NEED to Detonate to let go of fear that holds us back in our comfort zones. Feeling intensely is just what we might need to start living the lives we want.
Wanderlust is a beautiful topic for this Weekly Photo Challenge. Hubby and I recently signed up for a shared car rental system and decided to start taking road trips during the weekends every now and then.
Pals in Catalunya
Two weeks ago we went and visit three small, enchanting towns of Catalunya: Pals, Peratallada and Calella de Palafrugell. It was an amazing opportunity to take a bunch of photos of these beautiful corners of the world. Pals and Peratallada are completely build in stone and can easily take back in time.
Once we were done touring both towns, we still had day left and felt like lying around a beach somewhere! So we Googled for a near one and 20 minutes later we were eating muffins and watching the sunset in front of the sea at Calella de Palafrugell.
We went with very close friends and that made it all very fun and special. Definitely wanderlust goes in hand with passion with photography like a perfect match! I hope you enjoyed my photo gallery for this weekly photo challenge :).
Mango made a new friend and her name is Cloe.
She is a three months old frenchie and they became friends from the first sight. They spent a whole night playing around the apartment so we decided to take them to the park together the next day.
Taking photos of two puppies playing is a huge challenge. Even with tons of light and a very high shutter speed, is extremely difficult to get good angles and a nice framing. But, as I’ve said before, sometimes those technical stuff are not really so important.
A big and very important part of photography is to capture moments that you are passionate about. And this day, this moment was one of those!
I also did a short video to keep practicing! Hope you like it 🙂
