A piece of advice

The more things you like, the more you will enjoy life.

This has to be the best piece of advice I’ve ever received. Hubby said it to me a long time ago, and his father was the one who shared it with him first. So, in a way, even if I didn’t have the opportunity to meet him, is like he said it to me :).

If many things make you happy, if you enjoy sunsets, if you enjoy the breeze while walking to work, if you like many types of music and food, if you enjoy the little things, rather than criticize all and finding flaws with everything, the more you will enjoy life!

So like as many things as you can and enjoy life!

This is my first contribution to the Discover Challenge, hope you liked it!

Stop And Smell the Roses

Why is everyone tired or busy all the time? I don’t get how most people don’t even have time to answer a message. Not even an e-mail, in which, of course you have to sit, open up your incoming folder, open a new mail, read it, click the reply button and write an answer.

So much work… I’m exhausted by just typing that…

I believe that nowadays, stating how busy you are has become another word for “success”. Sometimes,  it even seems that people exaggerates their “I’m super busy status” in order to appear more important.

Busy equals success? How?

Well, it seems to me that if you don’t have the time to enjoy things you like (like playing videogames, reading a book) or even answering a simple message, you are obviously doing something wrong. It’s not possible that a person doesn’t have time to say “hello” to another. It’s just not possible.

Not having time has become desirable. Being busy and tired is fashionable. It has been for a while, I believe. We should start leaving behind the stupid idea that being busy is something good and that it will make us seem successful. I think success should be measured in happiness levels…Not on how tired you are at the end of the day.

So now, when someone asks you “how you are doing”, answer the question. Don’t throw and automatic “I’m super busy” response.

Take your time and enjoy the things you do. Take some time a look up. Look around. Take some time and take that photo you’ve been meaning to take. Read that article. Drink your coffee and enjoy the taste.

I didn’t stop to smell the roses today. But I did took this nice photo of a typical autumn leaf. I stoped in the middle of the day and did something I like.

What did you do today besides “being busy”?

The Beauty of the Unexpected

This is a quote from HunterXHunter, one of my favorite anime 🙂

Sometimes in life, for wathever reason, we’ll get detoured from the path we think leads to our goals. But, what we may not be aware of, is that in that new path we might find something greater than what we were looking for in the first place.

So, let’s enjoy the detour! Let’s embrace the unexpected and live it to the fullest.

Barcelona With Friends

Friends came to Barcelona. Sadly they didn’t stay for long, but is quality and not quantity that matters. During the days they were here, I saw things differently. In one hand, as I mentioned in another post, I got to Rediscover Barcelona and assure my love for this city.

But more importantly, I made amazing memories about our time living here. Last night we took them to the beach and I can assure you that it will be one of my top 5 moments in Barcelona. We just went to the coast, had a walk in the sand, soaked our feet in the sea and took some photos.

It wasn’t something extraordinary, but it was very special. I really miss my friends, and they being here made me happy and made me think about what is really important in life.

I know years from now I will look at these photos, and I will not think about money, I wont remember how much I had on my pocket or in my bank account. I wont remember what was troubling me, or what I had to do the next day.

I will remember the wind, the touch of the cold and soft sand beneath my feet. I will remember the warmth of the water and the lanter light that reflected on the surface while we were looking for small fishes.

I will remember how happy I was, how happy I felt and how I thought that these kind of moments are what life is all about.
