It’s been a long time since I last posted something on my blog. It’s been kind of difficult for me to get stuff done lately (lately being the last 4 months). Since we moved (yes we moved to new apartment!) I feel I haven’t been able to get into my life rhythm again.
Everything is taking me forever to get done, even little things like small house chores such as watering the plants or refiling a water jar.
That has become a problem. It’s getting to me emotionally and mentally. I know I have all this things I have and want to do, but seeing myself not able to get to them makes me feel bad and overwhelmed. So I end up curled up with a blanket on the couch or the bed during all my spare time not getting any closer to even starting to do all of these things. It a vicious cycle now, I think.
A photo of a very relaxing and happy moment
I just can’t seem to concentrate on doing anything. Even things I like and enjoy such as blogging, editing my YouTube videos, streaming or even playing video games. And there are SO many things I want to do. Maybe that’s even part of the problem. Could I be putting too much pressure on myself?
This morning I thought the important thing is to set a schedule. Maybe that’ll help? At least until I’m able to jump into the rhythm again. The things is, that to aby by a schedule you need to be discipline and I have to admit that self discipline is a knack I extremely lack of.
I hope this blog post is the first small step that helps me get back on track.
Ok yes I know. I missed one day. But that’s good because the only reason I missed it was because it was a very good and when we arrived home at night I was so tired and sleepy I dind’t got to sit and post on the blog.
One of the things I did during the day was a photo stream on my Twtich Channel: Mafirette.
I worked photos from our trip to Vall de Nùria on Lighroom while chatting to people and explaning what I was doing! I’ve resumed streaming this week because I so excited about one of my birthday presents: a Ninendo 3DS XL with a capture card!!! I wanted one of those for a long time. So I got enthused with streaming again. Then at night, we went to a delicious restaurant to have dinner with my parents and there was wine (hence the not bloggin yesterday xD)
Here’s a gallery with the phtoso I developed yesterday! Hope you like them!
I’m bloggin early today because we are going to see the new Spiderman movie! So I thougth I’m not going to have time to post tonight.
Tomorrow is the last day of my challenge!
Happy birthday to our life in Barcelona!
Three years ago, on April 6th, hubby and I moved to a new country.
It was a very difficult decision to make, but we are happy we did it!
So kudos for trying something new and getting out of your comfort zone.
Two friends of ours came to Barcelona for their honey moon. They got married in Madeira (that’s why we went there), and they came for a couple of days, so we showed them a little bit around and it was like we were living Barcelona for the first time.
After being away for a week and coming back to the most beautiful places of the city to show to our friends, our eyes were wide open, marveling with every building, corner and park.
We rediscovered Barcelona. All the time I thought what an amazing and beautiful city it is, and it regained my heart. It has so much to offer and hubby and I realized how much we missed it.
With that in mind I would like to share with you some of my favorite photos I’ve taken in this past year and half 🙂
Glad to be back!
Last weekend, after a while, I finally got the opportunity to go on another little trip. Hubby and I were invited to a calçotada. It’s a traditional gastronomic party in Catalunya. It envolves charcoal, a fire, a delicious sauce, bread, butifarras, drinks and, of course, calçots.
Of course it took a while for everything to be ready and we went for a walk. We were right outside Barcelona at Castelterçol. A beautiful small town, with stone streets, a church and a fresh fruit and vegetables market at the square. Sorrounded by nothing but miles of nature landscapes it was a perfect saturday.
Here are some of the photos I took (it was very difficult to narrow it down).
But the road didn’t end there. We continued on Sunday. We went to this towns with a population of 20 people. And the sights were amazing.
I just love this short trips. They are so relaxing and just simply fun.
When I was a kid I had my first encounter with snow in a small town in USA. I was about six or seven years old and, although I never saw snow since then, I could still remember the sound it made while walking on it. Its a very particular sound and it got stuck in my memory. This past weekend, I got to hear that sound again and it was just as I remembered.
I went on a roadtrip to visit the snow outside of Barcelona and it was amazing. The first stop was the beautiful town of Camprodon. The first thing you see when you star walking is the Ter river and the grand bridge over it. Is a stunning view completed by the many stores housed in old stone constructions, christmas music floating through the crowded streets and the smell of honey and smoke coming out of the fireplaces.
After walking up and down through Camprodon, we continued our way to the snow, wich was pretty much the purpose of this trip! And after driving for a little while we got there. I have to admit that I felt like a kid playing in the snow. We had so much fun and I got to photograph it for the very first time. Here are some of the pictures I took.
Personally I think is kind of difficult to take pictures in snowy landscapes. It was so bright I could barely open my eyes and focus. However i’m very happy with the photos, the colors are very intense and the light is beautiful and soft.
And, finally, after rolling, falling (a lot), gliding down hill and throwing lots of snow, we went back home. It was an amazing, extremely fun day. I still look at the pictures and don’t believe how beautiful everything was. I can wait to go back again!
As another advantage of moving to live in a new city, comes the opportunity to meet new people. And that’s great. The place you live matters, but the people with whom you share it, completes it.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to share a day with family that used to live thousands of miles away, of whom I only knew their names and I had a spectacular day. We went to a small restaurant outside Barcelona called Masia Rural Can Puig. I invite you to visit their website so you can learn more about it that what I’m about to tell you.
This small and spectacular home is located in the Montseny Natural Park. It is surrounded by pure nature. Any direction that catches your eye, there are mountains, trees, crops and flowers. Here you can actually breathe pure, clean air.
The house offers restaurant and accommodation services. We were only there to eat, but just thinking about spending the night makes me feel relaxed. The food was spectacular. Among countless entries, wines and desserts the palate was brought back to life.
And everything looked and tasted better thanks to the environment. The space intended to the restaurant is, as I could notice, what formerly conformed the hall of the house. A fireplace, stone walls, wooden furniture and candles create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy this delicious meal.
After eating we decided to take a walk around, so I could take many photos. Here is a small gallery of my favorites ones.
It was a spectacular day and I hope I get to go on another small trip like this one very soon.
This morning I was strolling through Internet. I visited the usual sites, such as my email, Facebook and Twitter. Then I decided to deligh my eyes viewing National Geographic’s photographs.
And seriously, hours can fly admiring these images. So beautifull sceneries, such amazing landscapes, really trigger the desire of going to every single one of this places, camera in hand, and save spectacular experiences.
So, imagination flew away. What would it feel like to be a photographer for National Geographic? Having the opportunity to travel around the world taking pictures of most amazing landscapes in the world has to be the ideal lifestyle.
And, having fun and dreaming a little more, I took the liberty of making this little montage! Hope you like it!
