Day 4: Cooking time

Free time is a blessing when it comes to cooking.

I made pizza today! Is not something I usually do, because it takes a lot of time and dedication. But today was the perfect day to have home made pizza. I didn’t take a lot of photos because (as usual) I wsa very hungry and just wanted to eat hahaha. So I only took a few minutes to do this one. Food photography is very difficult and you have to take some time to prepare the scene, decorate a bit or it just wont look good. Light is super important too and sadly, mi kitchen has no source of natural light. So whenever I want to take  photo of a dish I making, I have to set it up somewhere else in the house, which makes it all more difficult.

🙂

Day 2: Cooking new recipes!

Having more free time is a blessing. One of the things I really like to do, is to cook. But during the weeks when I have work, I’m usally tired or just want to do other stuff than making lunch for the nex day.

That’s why I end up going for easy choices and fast things to make instead of having fun with it. That’s why this week I’m giving it all and experimenting with new recipes! So today I made a zucchini lasagna.

I recently became a fan of a venezuelan youtuber called Sascha Fitness. And in one of her most recent videos she shared this recipe and it looked so good I wanted to try it! It’s very easy to make, it’s very healthy and it tastes SO good! (Sorry! I was so hungry I didn’t take a photo of the lasagna served).

I will leave you here a link to her video so you can check out it out and see the recipe.  She has really good tips to lead a healthier life!

So this was day 2 of my One Post a Day Challenge!

How’s your week coming along?

When You’re Having a Good Time

The grills are light. Smoke fills the air and the smell of the grill opens up apetites all over the place. It’s Museum Night in Barcelona and the Food Fairs await night wonderers who want to fill their bellies after filling their minds. There’s something for everyone. Ribs, sandwiches, tacos, empanadas and even arepas. Oh, and beer of course. So many types of beer!

This is one of the things I love the most about Barcelona. There is always something to do. And I have to say, outdoors food fairs are close to number one in my list. Specially if during spring time and near the beach.

We had so much to eat! And everything was delicious. Or maybe everything just tasted better because of the ambience, music and overall good energy. And to top it all, it was a perfect afternoon to take photos. I haven’t been taking as many photos as I would like lately… But even so, these ones turned out great! Well, at least I like them a lot. I think they really put accross the energy and the peace from that afternoon.

I loved it. I had a great time and I needed it. The weekend went by SO fast. But well, you know what they say: time goes fast when you are having a good time.

Have a great week, everyone!

Countryside day

As another advantage of moving to live in a new city, comes the opportunity to meet new people. And that’s great. The place you live matters, but the people with whom you share it, completes it.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to share a day with family that used to live thousands of miles away, of whom I only knew their names and I had a spectacular day. We went to a small restaurant outside Barcelona called Masia Rural Can Puig. I invite you to visit their website so you can learn more about it that what I’m about to tell you.

Can Puig

This small and spectacular home is located in the Montseny Natural Park. It is surrounded by pure nature. Any direction that catches your eye, there are mountains, trees, crops and flowers. Here you can actually breathe pure, clean air.

The house offers restaurant and accommodation services. We were only there to eat, but just thinking about spending the night makes me feel relaxed. The food was spectacular. Among countless entries, wines and desserts the palate was brought back to life.

And everything looked and tasted better thanks to the environment. The space intended to the restaurant is, as I could notice, what formerly conformed the hall of the house. A fireplace, stone walls, wooden furniture and candles create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy this delicious meal.

After eating we decided to take a walk around, so I could take many photos. Here is a small gallery of my favorites ones.

It was a spectacular day and I hope I get to go on another small trip like this one very soon.
