Free time is a blessing when it comes to cooking.
I made pizza today! Is not something I usually do, because it takes a lot of time and dedication. But today was the perfect day to have home made pizza. I didn’t take a lot of photos because (as usual) I wsa very hungry and just wanted to eat hahaha. So I only took a few minutes to do this one. Food photography is very difficult and you have to take some time to prepare the scene, decorate a bit or it just wont look good. Light is super important too and sadly, mi kitchen has no source of natural light. So whenever I want to take photo of a dish I making, I have to set it up somewhere else in the house, which makes it all more difficult.
I don’t know what happens when temperatures drop, but all I want to do is eat sweets! I had a craving for churros for about a week now, and today I went and got some!
Happily (I think…) I work really close to Carrer de Pertritxol. A lovely little street filled with beautiful stores, most of them specialised in pastries, cakes and all sorts of delightful sweets!
These churros and chocolates are from a place called Xocoa. You can check out their Instagram account for an overdose of sugar with photos of handmade chocolates, cookies, cakes, creamy cups of coffee and churros!

Having more free time is a blessing. One of the things I really like to do, is to cook. But during the weeks when I have work, I’m usally tired or just want to do other stuff than making lunch for the nex day.
That’s why I end up going for easy choices and fast things to make instead of having fun with it. That’s why this week I’m giving it all and experimenting with new recipes! So today I made a zucchini lasagna.
I recently became a fan of a venezuelan youtuber called Sascha Fitness. And in one of her most recent videos she shared this recipe and it looked so good I wanted to try it! It’s very easy to make, it’s very healthy and it tastes SO good! (Sorry! I was so hungry I didn’t take a photo of the lasagna served).

And it has been a really long time since I made cookies! I was frustrated because I never got the result I wanted. But let me tell you, that history took a turn tonight!
They are turned out so good. YUM!

In My First Entry I mentioned that my blog would basically treat three themes, the marketing world, the uncontrollable passion for photography and love for the culinary delights. But it’s time to recognize that, of all of them, photography takes up 80% of my mind and of my posts.
Today, however, things change a bit! Yesterday, to calm post-lunch sweet cravings, I decided to make a cheesecake. Besides, doing it would provide me of a good time and, yes, I can not deny that I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to practice food photography, one of the most challenging types of photography (for me at least).
After separating, measuring, mixing, baking and cooling as a result i got a delicious, creamy, golden cheese cake. Definitely cooking a dessert on a summer afternoon, listening to some French music is a wonderful pleasure of life.
After waiting almost one day to have the right light, I did a little photo shoot of my beloved cheesecake. I placed it on a table with a couple of tablecloths to give some warmth to the images. I also made sure to have a solid color background. In this case I used white to really focus the attention on the cake, and also to provide clarity and a feeling of freshness to my pictures.
I think the result was pretty good, considering my limited experience in food photography. Maybe I would have liked to try some shots with a different background, I’ll do it for the next time as I intend to practice more this kind of pictures.
