Spring Everywhere!

I recently got the chance to work with a group of amazing, beautiful and very talented women: a jewelry maker, a pressional makeup artist and stylist and two amazing models. We did and incredibly beautiful photo shoot using srpingy-Barcelona as location and it coulnd’t have turned out more beautifully.

We went to a really nice park in the high part of the city and it was just the perfect set. There were trees and flowers everywhere! We did photos on different parts of the park to try and take it all in.

My purpose was to match the makeup of the models with the flowers in the park, to create contrasts and use that beautil spring, golden hour light. I did so many photos and was SO happy with most of them I ended up with more that 200 final images.

Hope you get spring vibes from this photos! And if you want to see a behind the scenes of it, you can check it out on this video I published on my Youtube Channel!

YouTube Photography Channel

I’ve been meaning to open a photography YouTube channel for a while. However, I couldn’t come up with what to do on it. Finally, after some time I oficially opened my YouTune Channel!

I say “oficially” because I uploaded some videos previously from roadtrips and stuff, but now I now where I want to go and what I want to do with my YouTube channel. So, for the premiere I made a sort of behind the scenes video of my latest photo shoot for my friend’s web Vestier de Moda.

Hope you enjoy it!

I will upload more photos of this shooting here on my blog and on my Instagram account!

Keep creativity flowing!

I’m constantly looking for new projects. Whether my own, or friends projects I can get involved with, I’m always on the lookout! It’s a way to keep flowing creativity and enthusiasm for what I do.

Recently, a dear friend of mine asked me if I would like to do a photo shoot of a bralettes brand for her new project.

She just launched an online store called Vestier de Moda where she sells different clothing items from brands made by other entrepreneurs. We got together and did an amazing photo shoot.

For this shoot I had in mind a very soft look and feel from the start. I wanted to get a soft, white light in a homey/comfy environment so the photos could have a closeness feeling. That someone looking at them could feel related to the scenery.

We had a great location for the photos, which meant great natural light and a great model. It really is a cool project and I’m sure more photo shoots are on the way! We had a lot of fun doing this shoot and you can visit my friend’s Instagram for her project!

I used Lightroom to develop these. Just played a bit with light temperature, exposure and contrast.

Good Afternoon, Barcelona

Mafe roig photoshoot for weed girls online magazine

I took this photo for my job and I have to say It’s been one of my favorite photo sessions so far. I hope you like it. We did it in a small flat in one of the most popular streets in Barcelona city. And it all just clicked.

Every time I take photos I always say there is a warm up time. For me and for the model/person I’m photographing. But this time… I don’t know. It was different. It was great.

I wanted to share it with you because I’m really happy about how the images turned out.

You can see the full photoshoot by clicking here (here, here, here!)

Have you ever had a session like that? Where you felt that everthing worked and ended up so happy about the results?

Let me know 😉

Good afternoon, from Barcelona.

Eye for photography

Recenlty, reorganizing my photos, sorting from one disk to another, I found a folder of an unexpected small photoshoot I did last year. When I was studying photography in Bogotá, at Labloom Academy, some girls from the fashion production course were in trouble due to technical problems with their camera and went looking for a photography student that could help them. And, gladly, there I was.

They were doing the final exam where they nedeed to portray a fashion style, and when asked them what look they were looking for with the photos, they said they wanted to represent a fusion of styles between Madonna and Cindy Lauper and wanted a very natural session.

I loved doing these pictures. Back then I had done many portraits but never a session that  approached so much to a fashion photo shoot. Since I did it, I discovered that this is the type of photography I enjoy the most and the one I would like to work in as a professional.

One of the things I liked so much about doing these photos was the lighting. The place we where had two large windows and white walls, and as the day was quite cloudy, the light was very bright and soft at a the same time.

I remember that day my teacher asked to see some of the pictures I had done and he told me I had an eye for photography. That was a great incentive to motivate me to continue learning and practicing to achieve my dream of one day working as a professional photographer .

Unfortunately, since then, I haven’t had the opportunity to participate in a session like this and I all i think about is when will the opportunity raise again.
