Holiday times

The Holidays are officially over and I decided to go through my camera roll today and work a bit on my Christmas photos.

My parents came to visit, as they do every year since I live in Barcelona. Since they already know the city very well, we thought we should do something different and went on a little trip to a country house outside of Barcelona in Girona called Ogassa. It was amazing, A few days of complete disconnection: barbecues, marshmellows in the fireplace, good food and peaceful naps.

The only tragic part of this trip was that I forgot my camera. I feel embarassed just typing that. The thing was that I had a lot going on with the bags, Mango, everything and I left it in the closet… I still don’t quite understand how that happened. I took all of these photos with my dad’s phone a Samsung S6 Edge and then worked a bit on them in Lightroom.

I was so sad and everything was so beautiful and just can’t stop thinking how many photos I could have taken. But I’m still happy with these ones!

And they are a beautiful reminder of these amazing days. I wish you a beautiful 2017 🙂

Weekend Excursion

Last weekend, after a while, I finally got the opportunity to go on another little trip. Hubby and I were invited to a calçotada. It’s a traditional gastronomic party in Catalunya. It envolves charcoal, a fire, a delicious sauce, bread, butifarras, drinks and, of course, calçots.

calçots

Of course it took a while for everything to be ready and we went for a walk. We were right outside Barcelona at Castelterçol. A beautiful small town, with stone streets, a church and a fresh fruit and vegetables market at the square. Sorrounded by nothing but miles of nature landscapes it was a perfect saturday.

Here are some of the photos I took (it was very difficult to narrow it down).

But the road didn’t end there. We continued on Sunday. We went to this towns with a population of 20 people. And the sights were amazing.

I just love this short trips. They are so relaxing and just simply fun.

Doors

One of the good things about moving to the country your grandparents were born, is that you get to know were your family comes from. Last week I got to visit the town my granfather was born and raised, Premià de Mar. It’s right in front of the beach, located about half an hour away from Barcelona and it’s absolutely beautiful.

I went there with my parents and hubby. Mi dad actually lived there for some time and he took us to the street where he lived with his grandmother. He couldn’t remember exactly wich was their house but I was amazed as I’ve never seen a street like that before. all the houses are right next to one an another, with one huge door and a balcony on the the second floor.

The thing I liked the most were the doors. Every house has the same style, but every door is a complete new story. They are so big and beautiful I couldn’t resist to take a photo of each one.

As there was no one around I didn’t get the chance to ask about them, but I’m sure all the houses and their doors have great stories behind them. Blue, green, wood, white, fancy, old, modern, big and small this doors fascinated me. What could they have seen in all this years?

My favorite is the first one, the white one, with stone walls. Wich one do you like the best?

Countryside day

As another advantage of moving to live in a new city, comes the opportunity to meet new people. And that’s great. The place you live matters, but the people with whom you share it, completes it.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to share a day with family that used to live thousands of miles away, of whom I only knew their names and I had a spectacular day. We went to a small restaurant outside Barcelona called Masia Rural Can Puig. I invite you to visit their website so you can learn more about it that what I’m about to tell you.

Can Puig

This small and spectacular home is located in the Montseny Natural Park. It is surrounded by pure nature. Any direction that catches your eye, there are mountains, trees, crops and flowers. Here you can actually breathe pure, clean air.

The house offers restaurant and accommodation services. We were only there to eat, but just thinking about spending the night makes me feel relaxed. The food was spectacular. Among countless entries, wines and desserts the palate was brought back to life.

And everything looked and tasted better thanks to the environment. The space intended to the restaurant is, as I could notice, what formerly conformed the hall of the house. A fireplace, stone walls, wooden furniture and candles create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy this delicious meal.

After eating we decided to take a walk around, so I could take many photos. Here is a small gallery of my favorites ones.

It was a spectacular day and I hope I get to go on another small trip like this one very soon.

Dreaming a Little

This morning I was strolling through Internet. I visited the usual sites, such as my email, Facebook and Twitter. Then I decided to  deligh my eyes viewing National Geographic’s photographs.

And seriously,  hours can fly admiring these images. So beautifull sceneries, such amazing landscapes, really trigger the desire of going to every single one of this places, camera in hand, and save spectacular experiences.

So, imagination flew away. What would it feel like to be a photographer for National Geographic? Having the opportunity to travel around the world taking pictures of most amazing landscapes in the world has to be the ideal lifestyle.

And, having fun and dreaming a little more, I took the liberty of making this little montage! Hope you like it!
