A Ballerina in Barcelona

It was early on a autumn Saturday morning. People were slowly taking over the streets and there we were! With cameras, music and dance.

There was a woman singing opera in a corner near the cathedral and it was magical. The ballerina had her music to dance to and we (me and my friend Vero who is working on an awesome video of this) made absolutely beautiful shots.

It’s the first time I do a photoshoot like this one. At some point, there was a lot of people and a lot going on around us (tourists, people watching, getting in the wat of the shots). I had to be very careful to keep the focus of the images on the ballerina. It was very difficult and I’m not completely sure I succeeded.

However, it was a very magical morning. We got to experience Barcelona in a different way and even found some places we’ve never been to before. Here are some of my favourite shots.

I would like to do more photoshoots like this in the future. It’s a great experience to keep photographic skills on point! You have to be very fast and accurate with each clic to make sure to get the bests shots.

Ballet at the beach

Photographing a ballerina has been a dream since a long time ago.

When I was studying photography back in Venezuela at Roberto Mata Taller de Fotografía  one of my teachers showed us the work of a photographer who shot the ballerinas at a studio in New York (sadly I can’t remember ir or find it anywhere), and I was hooked by it.

Since that day, I always wanted to photograph a ballerina.

A few months ago I got introduced to Claudia. She is a ballerina from Venezuela and we did a photo shoot filled with magic! Here are some of my favourite shots:

She was so graceful and made my work so easy. The sunlight worked in our favor and I managed to give the photos a really soft look and feel.

It was a photo shoot filled with peace and sea breeze. Hope is the first of many to come :).

Have a beautiful week, everyone!
